Getting to Arizona this year year for Christmas was a challenge. We had decided to drive and mother nature decided it was a good time for a snow storm. A trip from Wichita Falls to Arizona should take 14 to 16 hours. This was not the case. It took us 17 hours to get from Roswell New Mexico to Arizona because New Mexico decided to close all roads, small and large. The signs on the side of the road said to seek local accommodations. Joe thought it was a way for New Mexico to increase tourism. We finally got to I-10 and decided to go to Las Crues and continue the drive the next day. It took us 1 and half hours to go four miles. This was due to construction but once we got through that we had no problems. I-10 finally opened and we had no problems. As Joe said, the song "We will be home for Christmas" was our mission and our theme song. We finally got to Arizona at 11pm. The total trip took us 25 hours. We were both exhausted and Colin was beyond good for the whole trip.
Here are some pictures from Colin's first Christmas
Christmas 2011 was wonderful and many more to come.
